Electronic waste poses a unique disposal problem. Computers are not banned from the landfills; however, there are more environmentally-friendly disposal options. This "e-waste" may contain heavy metals such as lead, chromium, and mercury that are best kept out of the landfills. In addition, e-waste contains valuable materials that should be recycled. Televisions can be placed at the curb with your regular trash. Often, it will be picked-up by garbage pickers even before the garbage trucks come around. There are some outlets for television recycling, however, they are not free. See below for local recycling options.
Computers and computer peripherals are accepted from RRRASOC residents at the Household Hazardous Waste events.
